Expert Wants African Governments To Improve Agriculture
An official of the Alliance for Green Revolution (AGRA) has called on governments in Africa to put in more hard work toward sustaining agriculture.
Akin Adeshina, vice president, policy and partnership, AGRA, in Accra, said that there were many investment opportunities in agriculture, but these could only be harnessed if inclusive changes in its development were made.
Mr. Adeshina said every operator must realize that African agriculture could not be continuous without "introducing technology, providing solutions to the agricultural modernisation challenges, and seizing all budding opportunities."
AGRA was established in 2006 to attain a smallholder-based African Green Revolution, transform African agriculture into a highly productive and sustainable system, and guarantee food security in Africa.
